METZ FINN: extra lightweight knives for extra thin cutting
First-rate quality, distinctive design and precise handling: the collection Metz by Carl Mertens offers a prime choice of kitchen knives. They are designed to fulfill the most sophisticated demands in regard to material and functionality. The Metz knives by Carl Mertens are inspired by Far Eastern forms and have extra broad blades made out of rustproof chrome molybdenum vanadium steel. The word "Metz" comes from the local dialect in Solingen, the "City of Blades", and means "knife". This choice of name refers to the tradition of Solingen as a center of blade and knife manufacturing, renowned not only in Germany, but also internationally.
METZ FINN offers the same design and function properties as the original METZ series by Carl Mertens, but also adds a double bevel blade, often used in Far Eastern kitchen knives: this particular form of sharpening makes the blade thinner, more lightweight and makes the handling even easier.
Like the METZ knives, the METZ FINN knives are manufactured with chromium molybdenum steel, which is perfect for high quality knives, because it offers a good combination of high and long-lasting sharpness, rust resistance and is easy to be sharpened after a long usage. The blade is cut out of 4 mm thick knife steel and then further processed with laser and water jet cutting. The sharpening makes the blade double bevel. 25 to 30 single productions steps result in a kitchen knife which is particularly lightweight, with a thin blade and thus easy and gentle in handling even for laypersons. METZ FINN is a perfect addition to the METZ range by Carl Mertens.
